Key Functions of GHCL:

• Liaise with the Government of Pakistan (GoP), particularly the Ministry of Water and Power (MoWP), and implement GoP policies related to GENCOs.
• Represent the company in legal and regulatory matters with WAPDA, NTDC, CPPA-G, DISCOS, GENCOS, IPPS, and NEPRA.
• Coordinate with international financial organizations, including multilateral development banks, for project financing and approvals.
• Secure necessary consents and approvals from government and regulatory bodies.
• Develop and implement management systems, operational procedures, and protocols for critical technical and support functions.
• Formulate and implement human resource management policies to optimize productivity.
• Oversee personnel management, including transfers, postings, and recruitment.
• Monitor performance, conduct audits, and recommend strategies for productivity and performance improvements.
• Assist in procurement and contract management, particularly for capacity enhancement projects.
• Develop corporate strategies, financial controls, operational, and safety standards.
• Support the Privatization Commission with the GoP’s Privatization Program, including evaluating divestment strategies.
• Carry out other functions as assigned by the Board of Directors (BoD).

GHCL’s role is essential in streamlining operations, enhancing efficiency, and ensuring the sustainable development of GENCOs under the government’s strategic direction.
